A LOVE OF COLOUR, A LOVE OF INDIA, AND A LOT OF IDEAS

Sorsica started with a feeling I’ve had for a long time; that the things we surround ourselves with should make us happy.

I’ve always been drawn to colour, pattern and objects with a story behind them. But my connection with India is where a lot of that inspiration really took shape.

 

In 2016, I packed up and moved to Mumbai for five months to live and work. It was an experience that stayed with me long after I returned home. I loved the energy, the colour, the incredible textiles, the patterns, the craftsmanship and the way everyday life felt so full of visual inspiration.

Years later, living in Leicester’s Indian quarter gave me another connection to that part of my life. I was surrounded by familiar colours, fabrics, food, celebrations and influences that brought those memories back and continued to inspire me.

 

Somewhere along the way, I started designing the things I wanted to see in my own home. Cushions, prints and colourful pieces that felt a little different. Pieces with personality. Things that could make an otherwise ordinary corner of a room feel joyful.

And that’s really where Sorsica began.

I wanted to create a homeware brand that felt personal and playful, bringing together my love of design with the colour, pattern and influences that have shaped my journey.

SO, WHERE DID THE NAME COME FROM?

Well, it’s actually a little piece of me.

When I was little, I couldn’t quite pronounce my own name properly, and somehow Sorsica was what came out instead. It became a nickname that stuck with my family, and years later, when I was looking for a name for this brand, it felt like the perfect fit.

It’s personal, playful and a little unexpected, which feels pretty fitting for Sorsica.

I wanted to create a homeware brand that brings together my love of design with the colour, pattern and influences that have shaped my journey. Pieces I genuinely love, made for homes with personality.

Everything starts with something I’d want in my own home.
